The goal is to answer the question, “what led you to conduct this research?”.Research goals lay out the outcomes of the research.
The goal is to answer the question, “how will the results of the research impact our design decisions?”.Research questions are the questions that the research should answer. They should align with the goals of the research. These are not the literal questions to ask the participants.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are the critical measures of progress towards the end goal. Things to consider are the amount of time a user spends on a task, the user’s use of navigation functionality versus search functionality, user error rates, drop off rates and conversion rates, and the system usability scale. The System Usability Scale is a questionnaire to measure the usability of the designs.
The goal is to answer the question,” What would indicate that we’re making progress toward our ultimate goal?”.Methodology outline the steps for conducting the research including how to collect and analyze the data.
Participants are the people to do conduct the research with.
The goal is to answer the question, “Who do you need to be involved in the research to ensure you’re studying the right metrics?”.Script is also known as a discussion guide. These are the interview questions to ask the participants.
The goal is to answer the question, “what questions can you ask participants during your research?”.
