Day 16 - Rasterized and Vector images
Rasterized images
made of pixels. A pixel is the smallest single element in a digital display.
measured by PPI (Pixels Per Inch). The more pixels packed into one square inch, the higher the resolution or clarity of the image will be.
images with a high density of pixels appear sharp while images with fewer pixels per inch i.e low resolution, appear blurry.
Rasterized images have three popular file formats - JPEG, PNG, GIF.
Vector images
resolution independent.
every piece of the image mathematically calculated from one point to another.
do not lose quality when scaled to any size.
SVG is an example of a vector image file format.
