Day 18 - Making Web Designs more accessible

Tips for making web designs more accessible:

Use headings

Headings are an effective way to establish the hierarchy of the elements on the page, making it easier for screen readers to understand the content on the page.

Provide controls for content that starts automatically

Visible controls allow users to stop auto-playing videos, sound, or carousels. Auto-playing audio may affect a screen reader user’s ability to stop it because the automatically played sound disrupts their navigation using a screen reader.

Use labels

Form fields should have a label adjacent to them. The labels should not be placed far from the associated field. Clear labels help all users but especially those with cognitive disabilities. Clear labels for required fields can prevent errors such as submitting incomplete or incorrect form fields.
