Competitive Audit is essential to the design process as it provides an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of a product’s competitors.
Steps to do a Competitive Audit
Outline the goals that need to be achieved by your product.
Create a list of the direct and indirect competitors:
Direct competitors have the same offerings as your product with a focus on the same audience.
Indirect competitors either have the same offering as your product with a focus on a different audience or offer different products but with a focus on the same audience as yours.Create a list of specific features that need to be compared, for instance, first impressions of the user interface, responsiveness, etc
Research and compare each competitor using the list of features
Analyze and summarize the findings in a report
