Day 9 - Responsive Web Design & Zebra Striping

Responsive Web Design

The term “Responsive Web Design” was coined by Ethan Marcotte, a web designer.

Responsive Web Design means the appearance of the layout of a website changes based on the size of the screen it is viewed on. It allows the designs to be both flexible and adaptive.

Ethan Marcotte found a formula to create a grid based on relative measures (ems):
target / context = result (in ems). The value of the result can be used to define the size of different elements of the design.

Zebra Striping

Zebra Striping is also known as candy striping or half shadow. It is the application of different background colours to alternate rows in a table.
